Well of course this wonderful jacket was on my doorstep almost after I closed the IPad. Zappos is awesome and dependable. The jacket is exactly what I needed for the ski slopes. Length is great roomy enough for layering. The fur is removable which I might do. It flops around when hood is up. Might become a distraction trying to anchor it. I understand why it isn’t tacked down. Nevertheless I’m happy.

I can’t wait to wear this jacket. I ordered the Gotham in small and medium, I kept the medium so I can layer. The hood is deep which makes for great ear coverage!

It’s a light comfortable jacket. I’m not sure how it’s going to hold up to the worst of Chicago winter, but seems like it’s going to do okay. What bothers me the most is the quality of all the zippers. I’m afraid I will break them anytime, including the side pockets and the main zipper. Given how much it’s supposed to cost, and even the sale price, the quality should be higher. I’ve had many TNF jackets, and the quality is usually better. In addition, when I received the jacket, assuming it’s new, there’s a lot of white fuzz/lint around the stitching. Mine is made in Bangladesh, which makes me wonder if TNF products made there all of this quality issue. Lastly, products made in Bangladesh, given their minimum wage being the lowest in the world at $38/month or so, the jacket should not be anywhere near the MSRP.

Received this jacket as a Christmas gift from my bf because I’ve been needing a new casual type of jacket/coat (to replace a similar one that I had that looked wretched and needed to be retired!) and this one fit all of the requirements that I had for a new warm winter coat/jacket! I haven’t yet worn it in seriously freezing cold winter weather, since the temperatures have been on the mild side since receiving it, but it definitely seems plenty warm so far. I tried the size Large just to compare (I was given a Medium), and I stuck with the Medium one. It still allows me to layer a bit underneath without it being uncomfortable or tight. I typically would go up a size with something like this but feel like there was a HUGE size difference between Medium and Large with this item. The size Large absolutely swallowed me, even though it wasn’t THAT much bigger, according to the given measurements. My measurements fell into the ones given for a size Medium, but were on the bigger side of Medium, close to bordering on the Large, which is why I wanted to compare the two. Feels true to size though, not very heavy, and still gives you a nice, slightly fitted, feminine shape. Super happy so far, definitely would recommend!

Good for petite frames. Keeps you warm in 30-40 degree weather without being bulky. Love the red plaid pattern. Another winner from The North Face. High quality high design. Looks good with the giant oversized fur hood but also great without it.
