Regina –
Love this coat. It is very warm without adding bulk and is actually slimming. It repels water and comes with a hood. Perfect coat for walking the Highlands of Scotland in the winter!!!
Laura –
Warm, lightweight double layers easy to connect, good zippers, giant pockets that makes this woman swoon, long enough to keep my rear warm. They say you lose a lot of heat through your head if it isn’t covered but I say it’s actually the rear. I’m 5’7″ and newly 190 lbs so I needed a jacket that my powerful body could fit into. I ordered an XL – it’s a bit big on me but that works because I can wear a sweater underneath, tuck in my scarf, maybe sneak in snacks to the movie theatre, etc.
Boston B –
Great for commuting on public transit and running errands on weekends. Love the color and longer length. Glad I sized up to account for slim (and flattering) fit but wish I could unzip from the bottom when seated. Surprised at how warm it has kept me especially when using both layers.
Brad –
So far, really loving this parka. I was trying to avoid the bulkiness of the puffer everyone has, and this is exactly the fit I was looking for. I also love that it’s not down-filled, as Im trying to avoid down/fur/leather as much as possible. My only complaint is that The North Face logo isnt sewn on as it used to be, its like a rubbery iron on. Im wondering how that will hold up over time.
This parka wont keep you warm in the frozen tundra, but is exactly what I was looking for! The two parts are also very easy to take apart and combine as needed, and I think ill get a lot of use out of the individual components as well as both together. I was between sizes and ordered up, which I think was wise.
Kathy –
Love this parka Three coats in one, very comfortable and not bulky at all.
Danielle –
Took this coat to NYC in the January cold and it kept me warm. Love the versatility. I wear 12-14 and the XL fits great.
Megan –
Love this jacket and the 3-in-1 functionality. It’s perfect and the length is nice as it comes down to the thigh. Feels very substantial and well made. Like that it has zippers and buttons (instead of velcro, which you’ll find on other North Face pieces and gets caught on everything/has ruined many a sweater and scarf). Wore the jacket on a 30 degree day with a sweatshirt under it and was cold. So, not sure it’s going to be my go to for a New England winter, but I love it and am definitely keeping it!! Heading to Ireland this summer, and love that it comes apart for all of our different travel needs/changing weather. Outter shell is waterproof and has a nice weighted front hood. Would highly recommend and buy again in a heartbeat.

I purchased this for winter camping so I bought an XL to ensure I could wear layers under it. I think it might run a little small, tho; but it is also very roomy thoughout the entire coat, particulary at the bottom. Very warm coat. The only thing I would change is to make it a 2-way zipper.
Payal –
Perfect jacket for winter. Kept me warm in 25F weather, love the lightness, comfort and look!
Kenwyn –
LIke flexibility of the layers for different temps. Very warm for its weight
Barbara –
I LOVE this jacket! As stated in the description, the lining can be removed very easily and it becomes a light weight rain coat.
This jacket provides great warmth and is completely waterproof. It’s exactly what I was looking for. Size size I wear an 8 in women’s clothing and I purchased a medium. Just right as it allows room for a sweater underneath. One small negative: the collar is very stiff and high. With manipulation I have been able to make it more pliable and a more comfortable fit.
Heather –
By far, my favorite coat that I’ve ever owned. I love that I can wear it for all occasions- I always stay warm and it looks nice!! I definitely love the versatility of the 3-1 especially with Michigan weather 😉
Kim –
Perfect for winter hiking in 20-40 degree temps
Brenda –
Winter coat for me, my issue with the coat is the tightness around the butt area. I am a woman with hips and butt. I had to purchase a large size but now the top part is to larger. I wish the designers would take the challenge and create a fit for women with my build.
Marcia –
So far the fit is great, very comfortable sitting in the car and warm when outside walking.
Payal –
Love the jacket!! It keeps me warm in the NJ winter weather, the length is just right for my 5’2″ height and looks great.
Jasmine –
This is my everyday winter jacket. It was -19 and I felt pretty good for short times I was outside. 0 I was able to stay outside a lot longer and felt pretty warm still. The length helps keep the wind out keeping me all over warmer. 15 degrees I don’t need a hoodie or a long sleeve shirt on.

Fantastic
Amber –
I love how it is a two in one jacket! Its waterproof and you can wear it anywhere. I am thinking about getting it in another color!
Laken –
My favorite coat of all time! It’s awesome how one warm coat can become two separate coats. The puffy inner coat is a lot lighter on its own, and the outer coat is more of a rain coat/windbreaker.
Wade –
Fits well, love the ability to get 3 different jackets. Water proof works well. Warmth is great. Still have enough room for a bulky sweater underneath. Already washed the outer shell once because it smelled from food and that turned out fine too!
Christine –
There are a couple of things I like about this coat. The inner thermoball liner is warm and comfortable. I like the longer length. The hood is a good size and the drawstring in the back helps you adjust the hood to your liking.
A few things I do not like about this coat:
1: the sleeves are too short
2: the bottom flares out big like a skirt
3: the coat is slippery on the inside making it such that it rides up a lot when you raise your arms
4: the pockets are placed too high making it awkward to stick your hands in there when they get cold. The pockets are also not lined.
The biggest issue I have is the flaring out of the bottom part of the rain coat. Makes me look like a Christmas tree: narrow on top, wide at the bottom.
I am still going to keep the coat. It is light weight and should work fine for a trip to Iceland. Had I paid full price I would have sent it back in a heart beat.
Jennifer –
I used on my vacation to Germany/Rome/ Amsterdam and it keep me warm and toasty when needed and dry from the rain. I loved it so much that I order another jacket.

The perfect winter coat. It warm and stylish and fits true to size, I highly recommend it!
