Abe –
Most important info first: these are not waterproof. If you need something that won’t soak through in the rain or when walking through a bit of water, DO NOT get these.
They are pretty comfortable though and have otherwise held up fairly well. I got these back in March and have used them pretty regularly, mostly on dayhikes, but also a few multi-day backcountry backpacking trips. The shoes are comfortable and feel pretty good even after a full day of hiking with a pack on.
They’re just not waterproof. My brother got a pair shortly after I got mine (because they look pretty good for hiking shoes and were comfortable) and his are also soaking through anytime it rains or they touch water, so the issue isn’t a one-off.
I’ve sent mine in to their warranty department and expect to be given a refund, as it’s my understanding that this is the issue with all the new Vectiv/Futurelight shoes.

I bought these for my husband’s birthday and he wore them on a trip to Iceland. He said the comfort was unmatched.
Valton –
I’m so happy with my vector exploris Futurelight,

These shoes are very comfortable right out of the box. Besides giving great stability for the trails, they are also great for walking around the city and our nightly walks around the neighborhood. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a great comfortable shoe!!

I am a fan on North Face light hikers, However these great looking shoes are nothing like previous NF hikers I have purchased. Too small, no arch too narrow. Zappos was great with their return policy and I bought a pair of New Balance Trail shoes the fit great!
Allen –
I love this shoe for light trail hikes!
Rob –

Treadmill J –
I have been using North Face athletic shoes for treadmill daily use for years. This is the best model of their shoes that I have seen. Highly recommended.
Garrett –
Great
Jessica –
Great shoe! So light! Runs more narrow than other NF shoes, so had to return
Philipp –
Walked 500 Miles on them.over past 6 months.
Great shoes. Only bad thing…. unfortunately the soles are loosing traction as grip almost gone.
Had an ankle injury about a year ago and these shoes are very stable, nice and wide and very comfortable to wear.
Tommy –
Works great and feels comfortable
Robert –
These shoes are extremely comfortable, the outside is water proof, and just overall comfortable fit. I use these shoes as everyday wear. Will continue to be buying these shoes as long as the make them.
Shane –
Amazing shoes. Great for waking low alpine or street adventures. Very well built no issues or sore spots wile getting use to them . No hot spots
Brian –
These tend to be tight and the tread wears out extremely quickly. Futurelight is also the poor man’s Gore-Tex and not at all as effective over time.
JAMES –
They run a little narrow however very comfortable after a week of wearing

If you have wide feet (likely not a problem with narrower feet), the shoe will occasion pain at the inner metatarsophalangeal joint of each foot. There is a seam that is particularly sharp inside the shoe (on the inner side) which digs deeply into the joint and causes pain if your feet are wide (I am a black man).
In my experience with wider feet the pain does not go away (thicker socks do not help).
I used scissors and electronic wire cutting tools to get through a membrane and remove the offending (likely redundant) seams inside the shoe. So far so good. Still gave 5 stars because the shoes look great and I believe I fixed them. I would only recommend to a person with narrower feet than my own.

Best shoe ever don’t know how Northface has done it ,much more premium products yhan other manufacture of shoes
Papa B –
The shoe is very well made. I am so surprised in the difference of qualities of shoes this one is one of the best
Raymond –
Very comfortable
Nikhil –
Unfortunately had to return as the right shoe’s fitting was not perfect.
Notavailable –
Really great hiking shoes. They are very comfortable and high quality. I wish the laces were a bit gripper so they would stay tight other than that they’re perfect.
Snook –
I use these exclusively for backpacking and so far I like them. Only put about 45 miles on them so far though. First night was a downpour, shoes were soaked but My feet feel great when I get to camp which is a plus coming from 6 other brands I’ve tried. By morning they were nice and dry in my tent. I actually like these so much I just ordered the Mid version of this shoe (which is waterproof I believe).
I’d recommend to get a half size bigger.

They are my first pair of hiking shoes. I only wore them once (my first hiking) and the front of my tennis shoe peeled off.

Great fit and very comfortable. Not hot like a lot of Gore Tex lined shoes
